Volunteering Roles

Accommodation Assistant

Location: At resident accommodation and elsewhere 

We are seeking someone who can provide additional help for Empowerment Workers by assisting with cleaning and preparing our housing, ready for our vulnerable residents to move into.  This will enable us to do more in the time available and enhance what we are already doing.

You will be a non-judgemental and compassionate person, with good listening skills and high levels of confidentiality.  We will provide appropriate training and there are robust Covid-19 procedures in place to help keep everyone safe.

Volunteer Tasks could include:

  • Collecting pre-ordered items for the accommodation (own transport required for this task)
  • Collecting food bank parcels ready for the resident moving in (own transport required for this task)
  • Basic cleaning such as wiping surfaces, cleaning windows, floors and hoovering
  • Making up welcome packs for our new residents

If you’d like to help provide a welcoming, clean environment for new residents to move into as they start their journey towards a better future, we want to hear from you!

Resident Befriender

Location: At resident accommodation and elsewhere 

We are seeking someone who can provide additional help for our vulnerable residents and any children, by volunteering alongside and assisting, as and when requested, the designated Lotus Sanctuary Empowerment Worker.  This will enable us to do more in the time available and enhance what we are already doing.

You will be a non-judgemental and compassionate person, with good listening skills and high levels of confidentiality.  We will provide appropriate training and there are robust Covid-19 procedures in place to help keep everyone safe.

Volunteer Tasks could include:

  • Helping to plan shopping, meals and assisting with cooking
  • Performing and advising about simple domestic tasks and helping with children’s play and activities
  • Collecting food bank parcels (own transport would be required for this task)

through to something as simple as listening and chatting over a cup of tea.

Custody Collection Assistant (Phoenix Project) 

Location:  Various locations

We are seeking someone to provide additional help by accompanying the Empowerment Worker in the staff vehicle to collect women released from custody, transport and help settle them in to their new accommodation

You will be a non-judgemental and compassionate person, with good listening skills and high levels of confidentiality.  We will provide appropriate training and there are robust Covid-19 procedures in place to help keep everyone safe.

Custody Collection & Befriender (Phoenix Project) 

Location: Resident accommodation, various custody facilities and elsewhere 

We are seeking someone to provide additional help for women being released from custody by volunteering alongside and assisting, where requested, the designated Lotus Sanctuary Empowerment Worker. This will enable us to do more in the time available and enhance what we are already doing.

You will be a non-judgemental and compassionate person, with good listening skills and high levels of confidentiality.  We will provide appropriate training and there are robust Covid-19 procedures in place to help keep everyone safe.

Volunteer Tasks could include:
